The Montevideo Spart­ans lost a pair of Land O’Ducks League games to Dumont and Rosen the past week.

Dumont downed the Spartans 16-6 in seven innings Friday at Wheaton.

High school players Christian Brabender, Mitch Christensen and Tyler Kuno all had two hits for the Spartans, with Christ­ensen knocking in three runs.

Aaron Johnson had a huge day at the plate for Dumont, going 4-for-4 with two homers, including a grand slam, and eight RBI.

The Spartans overcame an early 7-0 deficit to take a 9-7 lead but Rosen put nine runs on the scoreboard in the fifth inning to claim a 21-10 win in seven innings Sunday at Montevideo.

Mitch Christensen and Cameron Vien each had three of the Spartans 14 hits. Todd Bergeson and Troy Hendrickson had two hits each.

Rosen had 17 hits off three Montevideo pitchers.

The Spartans’ next game will be Friday at 8 p.m. against the Madison Mallards at Madison.
