Montevideo’s cross country teams finished second in the West Central Conference South meet Tuesday at The Crossings.


Montevideo’s cross country teams finished second in the West Central Conference South meet Tuesday at The Crossings.

Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd edged the Thunder Hawks by nine points in the girls meet, while Morris Area finished

14 points ahead of the Montevideo boys.

Tera Walker of LqPVDB made a strong finishing kick to edge Montevideo’s Hannah Ehling by less than 2 seconds for the girls individual championship.

Eight Montevideo runners earned all-conference honors by finishing in the top 14. Ehling, MaKena Hofer (12th), Trisha Jakobs (13th) and Eleni Binsfeld (14th) were all-conference for the girls, while Tyler Kuno (8th), Chase Testa (9th), Darin Stevens (10th) and Aaron Erickson (13th) made all-conference for the boys.

The Montevideo teams will compete in the Section 3A meet Oct. 28 at Adrian.
