Aaron Erdmann bowled a huge 278 the first game for the Prairie Sun Bank team last Wednesday night. Starting with a couple of spares, Aaron found the mark and strung nine strikes in a row.

The 278 is the second highest game this year, but Aaron’s 695 series is right at the top.

Aaron’s teammates were hot as well. They bowled 3,007 scratch, with four of the five bowlers over 600 — Jason Kurtzbein 625 (222), Al Erdmann 611, Todd Koehler 635 (230, 238) and Aaron’s 695. Now that’s a very good team effort.

Nick Kinman will find his name on the top 10 board after firing a real nice 257. That’s in third place for the year.

For the ladies, it’s Linda Schlieman with the high game of the year. She said the 222 is her career high game.

Mike Broich bowls on Wednesday and Thursday nights and is having a very good start this season. He added a couple more 600s the past week: 625 (224) and 614.

Other high games: Corey Feldhake 245, Curt Lee 235, Tom Anderson 233, Lyle Boike 227, Gary Paige 225, Matt Koopmeiners 224, Jesse Gort and Gene Olson 223, and Doug Blood 221.

What a Saturday the Montevideo High School team had in Willmar. They beat Yellow Medicine East 3-2 and Benson 3-2. They lost the first two games to Willmar, but won the last three. In the last game, Kane Glomstad spared and struck in the 10th frame to win the game by one pin. Montevideo is now 5-0 this season. This Saturday, we play two matches in Granite Falls. Keep those strikes and spares coming.
