Hunting and fishing license fees in Minnesota have not increased since 2001, which is the longest time period without an increase in 40 years.
An individual resident fishing license costs $17; a small game license, $19; a combination angling and small game license, $29.50; and a firearms or archery deer license, $26.
Compared to what we pay for other entertainment these days, I think that’s pretty inexpensive. If you went to a Minnesota Vikings game last year, you spent way more than that and I don’t think you got your money’s worth.
The state’s Game and Fish Fund is projected to go into the “red” by next July.
Tell your legislators you support the proposed increase in license fees.
