  • The Chord-Ayres mens chorus, based in Milan, will be inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame on Nov. 2, 2012, at Turner Halle in New Ulm.
The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame originated in 1989. Since then, 136 individuals or groups have been inducted, including Judy Garland, Bob Dylan, Dr. Frank Bencriscutto, Bobby Vee, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Holm, the Minnesota Orchestra, Sherwin Linton and Prince.
The Chord-Ayres celebrated their 40th anniversary on Jan. 3, 2011. Currently under the direction of Ted Albers, the 35-member chorus, along with accompanists Janet Kleven and Nancy Moen, is well known statewide for their harmonizing, especially of patriotic music.
They traveled to Hawaii in 1991 and 2001 to perform at the 50th and 60th anniversaries of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Since 1970, the Chord-Ayres have sung at Ft. Snelling Chapel in Minneapolis for the Minnesota Association of the Survivors of Pearl Harbor Observance.
For the past several years, the Chord-Ayres have performed for the Memorial Day program in Milan and the Veterans Day program in Montevideo.
