Free admission concert featuring the Minnesota Sinfonia, a professional chamber orchestra, and renowned soprano soloist Maria Jette is coming to Canby MN on June 8, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Canby High School Auditorium. Do not miss this event. This is the first time this concert has been offered to rural Minnesota and you don’t want to miss it.

The Minnesota Sinfonia will perform a variety of light family favorites as well as feature a selection of vocal pieces from the following: Georges Bizet’s Habanera from Carmen, ?Giacomo Puccini’s O mio babbino caro from Gianni Schicchi, ?Harold Arlen’s Stormy Weather,?Richard Rodgers’s Do-Re-Mi from The Sound of Music,?Bob Thiel and George Weiss’s What a Wonderful World,?Leonard Bernstein’s Tonight from Westside Story and American Folk Songs Shenandoah and Yankee Doodle.

A free bus will be taken from Madison and Dawson to this wonderful event. Call Madison or Dawson library for times and to reserve your seat. Everyone is welcome to sign up for this bus. People on the bus will have reserved seating at the concert. Registration will end May 29. If there is not enough interest to fill the bus, the trip will be cancelled.

Concerts are made possible with a generous grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board with funds from the Legacy Amendment, Plum Creek and Pioneerland Library Systems and Red Wing Arts Association
As a fundraiser for the library, the bus will be stopping at Subway at 5:00 in Canby for supper. DQ ice cream and water from Water Billboards will be sold at the gym before the concert, so come hungry.
