Benson/Hancock eliminated the Montevideo softball team from the Section 3AA tournament by beating the Thunder?Hawks 10-2 on Tuesday at Redwood Falls.

Montevideo got on the scoreboard in the first inning when Dani Emkes doubled with two outs and scored on an error.

Montevideo was trailing by just 2-1 going into the bottom of the fourth when the Braves/Owls plated five runs on just one hit.

The T-Hawks scored their final run in the top of the seventh on a one-out single by Lindsey Olson and two Benson/Hancock errors.

Getting hits for Monte­video were Emkes, Olson Paige Jorgenson and Chelsea Larson.

Kiersti Grey pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts as the Thunder Hawks won their regular season finale 8-1 over Minne­ota/Canby/Lincoln HI here last Thursday.

Jessie Janisch, Dani Emkes, Ashley Hoehne and Kelsey Olson had two hits each for Montevideo.

The Thunder Hawks finished the season with a record of 9-9. They will graduate just two seniors — Dani Emkes and Chelsea Larson.
