The Montevideo VFW Post 380 baseball team lost its season opener 10-6 at Alexandria on Tuesday.
After falling behind 8-0, Montevideo scored twice in the sixth inning and four times in the seventh. The game ended with Montevideo having the tying run at the plate.
Jordan Thompson and Ricky Schmitz had two hits and two RBI each for Montevideo. Jeff Rohloff, Andrew Peters and Spencer Hildahl also had hits for Post 380, which is being coached this season by Todd Bergeson.
Montevideo will host Madison on Friday at 6 p.m.
Montevideo’s American Legion team will open its season at home today (Thursday) at 7 p.m. against New London-Spicer.
