Montevideo’s Colton Vien played in the 38th annual  Minnesota Lions All-Star Baseball Tourna­ment June 22 and 23 in Chaska.


Montevideo’s Colton Vien played in the 38th annual  Minnesota Lions All-Star Baseball Tourna­ment June 22 and 23 in Chaska.

The all-star series featured 80 of the top graduating seniors in the state, playing on four teams in a round-robin format. Vien played for the South team, which went 1-2 in the tournament.

He went 2-for-5 at the plate, playing in the outfield. Vien pitched three innings, giving up just one hit, and got the save in the South team’s 8-1 victory over the Northern all-stars.

Vien was also named to the Minnesota State High School Coaches Assoc­iation All-State Team for Class AA. He and teammate Brett Bergeson received Aca­demic All-State honors in Class AA, as did the Thunder Hawks as a team.
