  • Montevideo’s seventh-grade boys basketball traveling team finished third in the state Pacesetter tournament at the College of Saint Benedict June 17. The Thunder Hawks opened the eight-team tournament by beating Hermantown 36-26. They lost 37-14 in the semifinals to eventual champion Brooklyn Park before bouncing back to win the third-place game 21-14 over Jackson County Central. The team finished the season with a record of 21-4.
