The Montevideo Legion baseball team's successful season came to an end with a 13-4 loss to Eden Valley-Watkins in the District 7, Division II tourney here Friday.
Seven Montevideo errors contributed to seven unearned runs. Joe Bednar and Brett Bergeson had two hits each for Post 59, with Bergeson driving in two runs.
Morris handed Montevideo its first loss of the tournament 6-0 on Thursday.
Morris pitcher Jacob Torgerson pitched a three-hitter with three strikeouts. Montevideo's only baserunners came on singles by Joe Bednar, Tanner Lindemann and Austin Hoehne.
"We had a great year (13-5)," said coach Tim Epema. "We had a 10-game winning streak after returning from Omaha. We hit .301 as a team and had a 2.86 team ERA. Eight of our nine starters hit over .280 on the season, including Joe Bednar, who hit .404."
