Minnesota voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, Aug. 14, for the state’s primary election.
“This is the first election since redistricting, and those changes directly impacted many Minnesota voters,” said Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie. “Primary voters will determine which candidates will be on the general election ballot in November.”
Lyle Koenen, of Clara City, and Larry Rice, of Willmar, will vie for DFL nomination to determine who will oppose Republican-endorsed candidate Joe Gimse, of Willmar, for the District 17 Senate seat in the November general election
Primaries will also be held in Chippewa County’s First and Third commissioner districts.
Voting hours at Chippewa County precincts and most Minnesota polling places will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
