  • The Montevideo volleyball team notched its first win of the conference and regular season by sweeping the Eagles 3-0 at Lac qui Parle Valley last Thurs­day.
    The first set was close until Kayla Collins served for eight straight points to give Montevideo an 18-9 lead. Ashley Hoehne had five of her team-high nine kills in the first set.
    With Nettie Duvall serving for five points, the Thunder Hawks took a quick 6-0 lead in the second set.
    The T-Hawks took command of the third set as Tori Kuhlmann served for eight points and a 9-0 lead. Lexi Radermacher served for seven points as Mon­tevideo opened up a 17-3 advantage.
    Hoehne had nine kills and Duvall and Natalie Feldhake five each for Montevideo. Jordan Hal­vor­son had eight kills for the Eagles, who fell to 0-1 in the West Central Con­ference and 1-2 overall.
    Montevideo's next match will be today (Thurs­day) at home against ACGC. The T-Hawks travel to Granite Falls to play Yellow Medicine East on Tuesday.
