  • After winning just one meet the previous two seasons, the Montevideo girls swimming and diving team extended their winning streak to two meets with a 97.5-8.5 home win over Holdingford last Thursday.

  • After winning just one meet the previous two seasons, the Montevideo girls swimming and diving team extended their winning streak to two meets with a 97.5-8.5 home win over Holdingford last Thursday.
    Montevideo never trailed in Thursday's home meet against Holdingford after sweeping the top three spots in the 200-yard medley relay.
    Senior Kelsey Quigley and sophomore Baylee Pauling had big meets for the Thunder Hawks. Quigley won the butterfly and backstroke, and Pauling took the 50 and 100 freestyles.
    Also winning individual events were Racquel Win­ters, in the 200 freestyle, and diver Allyssa Parker.

    A strong Melrose team handed Montevideo a 116-65 loss here Tuesday.
    Before Melrose swam the final two events as exhibitions, the lone victory for the Thunder Hawks was by Kelsey Quigley, in the butterfly.
    Montevideo will host Marshall today (Thursday) at 6 p.m.
