  • Candidates for state, county and city offices will participate in a candidate debate and open question forum at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Hollywood on Main, in Monte­video.

  • Candidates for state, county and city offices will participate in a candidate debate and open question forum at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Hollywood on Main, in Monte­video. The first candidate scheduled to speak is Maggie Kluver, incumbent Montevideo school board candidate. Montevideo mayoral candidates Debra Lee Fader, the incumbent, and former mayor Jim Curtiss will field questions from the audience. Tim Miller, Republican, and DFL-er, Andrew Falk, candidates for the District 17A House seat, will be the next to speak. Chippewa County Commiss­ioner candidates scheduled to appear are Matt Gilbertson and Galen Rud, of District 1; incumbent Jeffrey Lopez, of District 2; incumbent Dennis Anderson, of District 3; and Jim Dahlvang, District 4 incumbent who is running unopposed. The evening will conclude with state Senate District 17 candidates Lyle Koenen, a Clara City DFL-er, and Joe Gimse, the Republican candidate from Will­mar, presenting their viewpoints. This was the list of candidates scheduled to attend as of Tuesday. The event is sponsored by the Montevideo Area Chamber of Commerce.
