The 10th Annual Montevideo Goose and Pheasant Hunt will look quite a bit different this year than it did last year, when Gov. Mark Dayton made the event the site of the first annual Governor's Pheasant Opener.
This year, the event will be more casual, and after the hunt, there will be a community banquet that is open to the public.
Rep. Collin Peterson and Mayor Debra Lee Fader will be hosting the event, which is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 27.
Things will begin at 6:30 a.m. at the Watson Hunting Camp, where groups will be assigned to their hunting parties and breakfast will be served. The hunt will begin at 8 a.m. and go until 5 p.m.
A community banquet will be held at Montevideo VFW Post 380 from 5:30 to 8:30 where buffalo stew, fresh bread and apple crisp will be served. There will be door prizes, as well as a raffle for a commemorative 10th Annual Montevideo Pheasant Hunt gun.
