Voting 'yes' not an attack on gays
There is a marriage amendment on the ballot this year. It has been hijacked by the opposition and is being called an attack on gays. It is not.
Somehow the opposition has made us, who say marriage is between one man and one woman, afraid of being called intolerant. They have confused accepting gays and lesbians as persons of value with accepting their lifestyle.
There was a time when all churches looked to God's word, the Bible, as the one and only authority. When did people decide their intellect was wiser than God?
I will quote only one Bible verse — if you want more, there are more: I Corinthians 7:2: "But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband."
There is only one type of union listed. Can we be very medically precise — men and women were made to fit together and "become one flesh." No other union is part of God's plan for mankind. Also see Romans 1:18-32, Romans 6:26, I Corinthians 6:9; 2 Peter: 1-22, Revelations 2:14 and 18-20.
So, please vote yes on the marriage amendment. Not because I ask you to, but because God's word is the lamp unto our feet and a light to our path. If we reject this light, we will surely stumble.
