Tuesday, November 6, 2012: The national franchise of Touching Hearts, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota, recently presented Debbie Reller from Sunburg, Minnesota, with the coveted “2012 National Caregiver of the Year Award.”
The award was presented on Saturday, October 13, during the National Touching Hearts Annual Banquet at the Sofitel Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota. Debbie was there to receive the award, along with Linda Madsen, Operations Manager of the Touching Hearts New London office, and Mark Bonnema, Co-Owner of the New London franchise. Debbie has been a caregiver for the New London office since their first year of business over five years ago.
Touching Hearts at Home provides non-medical in-home care for seniors and people with disabilities. The national award was created by Touching Hearts Founder and CEO, Renae Peterson, to recognize an individual caregiver within the organization who has provided outstanding care to her clients, and consistently goes above and beyond in order to build great relationships, be compassionate, and represent the heart of the company to others. Nominations were open to all twenty-five Touching Hearts at Home offices throughout the country.
Linda Madsen nominated Debbie for the award and had this to say, “Debbie’s exceptional caregiving goes far beyond her dependability and trustworthiness, which is outstanding. She has truly touched the hearts of her clients and, in many cases, created enduring friendships in the process. Debbie is someone who puts the needs of others first without a second thought. She has a unique talent for drawing clients out of their shell and connecting with them through individual interests and hobbies. Debbie pays attention to the details of their lives, then looks for creative ways to serve and keep them smiling during each visit.”
Renae Peterson added, “We are a fortunate group at Touching Hearts, Inc. We have many exceptional caregivers serving throughout the country, as was seen in each nomination submitted. This award is about recognizing the gift of a great caregiver and we were so honored to present Debbie Reller with this symbol of our gratitude for her service to others.”
