“A Blue and Gray Christmas in the Village” will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Historic Chippewa City, at the junctions of highways 7 and 59 in Montevideo.
"A Blue and Gray Christmas in the Village" will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Historic Chippewa City, at the junctions of highways 7 and 59 in Montevideo.
This is the Chippewa County Historical Society's 34th annual event, and will continue the Society's commemoration of the U.S./Dakota War of 1862, as well as the U.S. Civil War by highlighting the 1860s.
Throughout the day, a variety of events will be ongoing. At 10 a.m., the candy shop and bake sale will begin.
Area artisans will be located in various heated buildings and will offer a large variety of unique gift items including crocheted ornaments and decorations, spinning, knitted hats, bracelets, pocket purses, hair wear, handspun alpaca yarn, knitting, weaving, Herbalife, wildlife and western ornaments, doilies, wooden antique tractor replicas, apples, cider, jams, syrups, dressings, honeys, hardanger, cross stitch, magnetic jewelry, cards, weaving, wool purses and more.
