Stringing together wins over Yellow Medicine East, Lac qui Parle Valley and Lakeview, the Montevideo girls basketball team improved their record to 4-2 on the season.
The Thunder Hawks will host New London-Spicer in a non-conferencce game Friday in the first game of a boys-girls doubleheader against the Wildcats.
Montevideo 64, YME 30
Yellow Medicine East scored the first five points of last Thursday's West Central Conference game at Granite Falls, but by halftime the Thunder Hawks led 41-13 lead and coasted to a 64-30 win over the Sting.
Ashley Hoehne had 22 points, Tia Diggins 19 and Morgan Reidinger 11 for the Thunder Hawks. Sophomore Chyanne Sand paced the Sting with 11 points.
Monte 42, LqP Valley 34
Leading all the way, the T-Hawks topped the Eagles 42-34 at Lac qui Parle Valley Friday.
Montevideo held the Eagles to just six first-half points in taking a 12-point halftime lead.
Ashley Hoehne had 24 points for Montevideo, while Alaysia Freetly led the Eagles with 17.
Monte 66, Lakeview 34
Ashley Hoehne scored a career-high 29 points and eight other Thunder Hawks got in the scoring column in Tuesday's non-conference home win over Lakeview.
The T-Hawks shot 55 percent from the field, aggessively taking the ball to the basket.
Montevideo went on a 9-2 run early in the second half to put the game away, with Catherine Haugen hitting a three-pointer and driving for a layup.
