Mike Kutzke of Lake Lillian has accepted the position of dean of instruction for technical programs at Ridgewater College and will begin his new duties January 16.
As dean, he will work closely with Mike Boehme, the other dean of instruction for technical programs, and Ron Pribble, dean of instruction for liberal arts programs.
Kutzke has been a faculty member at Ridgewater College in the areas of law enforcement and sociology since 2004. In addition to Ridgewater, he has taught at Fergus Falls Community College, Minnesota State University Moorhead, and other institutions. Kutzke’s background includes extensive experience in law enforcement, including several years in an administrative role as lieutenant at the Moorhead Police Department.
“I am very pleased to have Mike as our new dean of instruction,” said Ridgewater President Dr. Douglas Allen. “He brings to the job administrative experience, a wealth of knowledge about teaching and learning, and a thorough understanding of the perspective of faculty.”
“I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with people across multiple disciplines with a broader scope,” Kutzke said. “I am excited about the challenges.”
Kutzke holds an A.S. degree in law enforcement from Willmar Community College, a B.A. degree in criminal justice from MSU Moorhead, a M.S. degree in social sciences from North Dakota State University, and additional coursework at the doctoral level at NDSU.
