  • The Montevideo Gold Dusters won their second and third high kick competitions of the season, finishing first at Alexandria and New London-Spicer.

  • The Montevideo Gold Dusters won their second and third high kick competitions of the season, finishing first at Alexandria and New London-Spicer.
    The Gold Dusters edged Rocori for first place in the 15-team Alexandria competition.
    "This was a huge win for us, beating two state qualifying teams. The girls danced their strongest of the year, with amazing kicks for this time of the season," said coach Sharon Forde.
    Montevideo defeated Willmar and New London-Spicer in a triangular competition at New London Monday.
    The Gold Dusters jazz team won the New London-Spicer competition and they placed sixth of 12 teams at Alexandria.
    The Gold Dusters will compete at Waconia Sat­urday. On Tuesday, the jazz team will dance at halftime of the home girls basketball B game and the high kick team will dance during the varsity halftime.
