With their annual meeting coming up on Feb. 9 at the Prairie's Edge Casino, CURE is seeking nominations for candidates to their board of directors.
According to an email sent out by CURE, "The current Board is seeking to broaden the representation of women on the board and we are also looking for board members with non-profit organization management experience. We also are looking for more young people to serve on our board."
The CURE board meetings nine times a year, and they set the organization's strategy each year as well as carry out annual events.
"For the past 20 years, the CURE Board has been made up of different kinds of people with different perspectives. We have always had farmers, teachers, students, business people and hunters, fishermen, bird watchers and prairie lovers on the Board. Our meetings are always very interesting as we seek to find common ground and make decisions by consensus," the email reads.
