I've been seeing violet gray in the design blogs a lot lately, and Virtually Staging Properties, a professional home staging company who works with Atlanta painting contractors, mentioned it in a post about new neutral paint colors.  She calls volet gray "tricky", but points out that it's worth the effort to paint a room violet gray, as it adds a classic and feminine touch to a room.
