The Montevideo Police Department is reporting that at least seven downtown Montevideo businesses have been hit by a string of burglaries over the last two weeks.
An investigation is still ongoing, but Police Chief Adam Christopher said that between $4,000 and $5,000 has been stolen, and property damage has been inflicted on the business that were broken into.
Christopher said progress is being made in the investigation, but as of the time of this publication, no one has been named as a suspect.
"There is always money available for information that leads to a suspect being caught," Christopher said.
