Thankful for PTSA grants
The Montevideo Parent- Teacher Student Association (PTSA) recently awarded grants to purchase items to be used for students' programs or for special projects, of which I am an appreciative recipient.
The organization awards these grants every quarter and it is just one of the many things they do to support our local school system.
As an ISD 129 employee who works at Ramsey (Elementary School), I see members of the organziation frequently as they come to Ramsey to volunteer their time to assist teachers with tasks such as copying materials, cutting out items, or whatever the teacher needs assistance with completing.
The PTSA is truly a wonderful organization that we should all be very proud, and thankful, of having in our community.
What will the bill be for this?
Abraham Lincoln spoke of the Civil War at his second inaugural address in this fashion. "Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet if God wills that it continue, until all the wealth piled by the bondman's 250 years or unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said 3,000 years ago, so still it must be said the judgments of the Lord, are true and righteous altogether."
Lincoln realized that we live in a moral universe, that we are subjects of the author of a divine order whose throne is pillared by justice. Intrinsically we know this even after our rebellious fashion. The cry for justice is often heard in the streets and courtrooms of this land, even though we would be better served to cry for mercy.
Lincoln was also very aware that God is active in history and it is He who is the judge of a nation and the determiner of its fate.
In reading Lincoln's speech and ruminating on the power and truth of what he said, I cannot help but wonder what the bill will be for the murder of approximately 55 million babies in the womb? I am afraid that we are in the beginning phases of finding out what that might be.
Page 2 of 2 - The cry went up from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo demanding full-term, unrestricted abortion in his state. It rang forth like some pagan chant across the airwaves of this country.
He does not realize that we are but tenants and stewards and a tenant can be evicted and a steward is always at some point called to account.
