Pioneer Public Television is proud to premier the next episode of Postcards on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. with “Somali Culture in Willmar.”
"This week's episode of Postcards gives an introduction to the local Somali culture in Willmar, Minnesota. Community member, Mohamed Sayid, invites us into his daily life and explains his family traditions from Somalia. We also hear a tune from Somali musician, Aar Maanta, and take a trip to the Center Point Mall to visit a few colorful Somali stores,” says Postcards executive producer, Dana Johnson.
This new episode of Postcards airs on Sunday, May 19 at 7:00 p.m. with rebroadcasts on Monday at 1:30 p.m. and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. on Pioneer.
The twenty local productions of Postcards at Pioneer Public Television capture the stories about Minnesota art, history and cultural heritage, with funding provided by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
