Montevideo’s annual Memorial Day observances will begin with short programs at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery and at 10:30 a.m. at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
The main program will begin at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Following the advancement of the colors, the “Star Spangled Banner” will be performed by the Montevideo High School band under the direction of Jen Rosin. Lee Kvanli, chaplain of the American Legion Post 59 Riders, will give the invocation. Tom Anderson, Post 59 commander, will introduce the program participants.
Readings of “In Flanders Fields” and “Lest We Forget” will be given by the Legion Auxiliary
