  • Ernest Paulsrud, 88, of Grace Township, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at Luther Haven. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1, at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mike Carlson officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

  • Ernest Paulsrud, 88, of Grace Township, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at Luther Haven. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1, at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mike Carlson officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
     
    Music was provided by organist Jan Bjorngeld, vocalist Eileen Grosland’s selections, “Softly and Tenderly” and “You Are Mine,” accompanist Kristin Collignon, and saxophonist Tom Grosland’s “The Lord’s Prayer.” Casketbearers were his nieces and nephews, Douglas, Michael and Melissa Paulsrud, Melinda Wrobleski, Dale, Mark and Dean Bourne, and Eileen Grosland.
     
    Ernest Jemmis Paulsrud was born in Mandt Township, Chippewa County, Dec. 24, 1924, to Edward and Josie (Christenson) Paulsrud. He was baptized March 6, 1925, at Our Savior’s Lutheran in Montevideo with the Rev. Mason officiating, and confirmed Dec. 4, 1938, at Buffalo Lake Lutheran with the Rev. Opdahl officiating. He attended and graduated from District #39 schools. He was a lifelong farmer along with doing construction work for several years. He was also a lifelong member of Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church and enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing and watching television.
    He is survived by his sisters, Joy Bourne and twin sister Edna Paulsrud, both of Montevideo; and brother, Harlan (and Becky) Paulsrud, of Benson; eight nieces and nephews; ten grandnieces and grandnephews and thirteen great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
     
    Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Curtis Paulsrud; sister, Cora Paulsrud; and niece, Denise Paulsrud.
