Deen a sacrifice
For those of you who have not been following the saga of Paula Deen, she is the cooking show hostess who is being castigated by our society for using the "N" word 30 years ago.
This came out in a deposition that she gave and has been latched onto by some in the media as the unforgivable sin. In keeping with our society's bent toward political correctness as our new religion, she has been stripped of her TV show and scads of endorsements from major retailers in an organized effort to financially destroy her.
Poor Paula has confessed her sin in using the word that has caused so much pain to a group of people in our country for generations, but she as yet remains unforgiven. Murderers are forgiven, but not Paula, who is being sacrificed to our new national god, political correctness. In essence, many are saying, "Look, we are a moral people and to prove it, here is the sacrifice we offer up, this despicable woman who used the "N" word.
This attitude scares the daylights out of me because I can't help but remember the scripture that everything done and said in secret will in judgement be brought out into the open and with our words we will be excused or condemned. Those who are attacking her have never done or said anything equally reprehensible in their entire lives? Really?
Our new national religion, political correctness, is a very caustic one because at some point it will condemn all its adherents on the day that every secret thing is judged. It appears we now have two national gods — political correctness, to which Paula has been offered up, and Mo lock, to whom we have sacrificed 56 million innocent children on the altars of abortion.
The fear of the Lord has departed from us and since that is the beginning of wisdom, so has our common sense! Our leaders are now making decisions a sixth-grader would call into question. As a society, I would suggest that our new national pastime be changed from baseball to repentance, if God will give us the gift or repentance!
