Musical entertainment, stock car races and a demolition derby, hundreds of 4-H livestock and project exhibits and plenty of great food are just part of the attractions at the 133rd annual Chippewa County Fair July 31 through Aug. 2 at the fairgrounds in Montevideo.
Opening night musical entertainment, following the Montevideo Snow Drifters demo derby, will be by the band “Good for Gary,” who will perform for the younger fair attendees until midnight.
The ever-popular Johnny Holm Band returns again this year for an 8 p.m. show on Thursday, Aug. 1. “Custom Made,” a local trio, will perform from 4-7 p.m.
Sherwin Linton, a regular at the Chippewa County Fair for many years and a Minnesota Music Hall of Fame inductee, will give shows at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. on Aug. 2. A talent contest for amateur entertainers will be held from 3-5:30 p.m.
The Fiesta City Speedway’s racing program, followed by a fireworks display, will conclude the fair on Friday.
The Bounce Around Inflatables for kids will be open from 2-10 p.m. all three days of the fair.
