The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) hosted a Summer Leadership Event on Friday, July 26 in the Marshall area.
The young farmers toured Schwan’s Inc. ice cream and specialty convenience food production, learned the history of the company and toured the museum. Following the tours, Jill Casten with the American Farm Bureau Federation conducted a “What is your leadership style?” activity and MFBF President Kevin Paap provided a policy update. The evening concluded with a grill out. The tour was sponsored in part by the Minnesota Corn Growers Association.
“The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers were excited to provide a new leadership opportunity for young farmers from across the state to learn about agriculture in southwestern Minnesota,” said MFBF YF&R Chair Paul Lanoue. “It was also a great opportunity to strengthen personal leadership skills which can be applied to their home communities.”
While in Marshall, the MFBF YF&R Committee also met for their summer meeting on July 27.
