Thanks to FFA chapters
Greetings from camp! As the summer festivities are winding down, we at Camps of Courage & Friendship want to thank the Lac qui Parle Valley and Montevideo FFA chapters for all of their support through corn drives and fundraising events.
Thanks to your generous donations, every year thousands of kids with disabilities are able to enjoy a week at camp participating in activities they would not normally be able to do.
This year, nine kids attended camp from the Lac qui Parle Valley and Montevideo area. Our summer camps invite the kids to go fishing, swimming, tubing on the lake and much more. The kids’ smiles light up the camp as they find joy in new experiences. Many of the kids come annually and the week spent at camp is their favorite week of the year.
The FFA’s donations support the formation of lifelong memories and friendships.
The staff and campers at Camps of Courage & Friendship thank you for your contribution.
We have got it all figured out. There are no unseen elements at play here on planet earth and we and only we call the shots. It only follows that whatever we decide and instigate is AOK.
It also follows, since we write the rules, that no other rules apply and things like the 10 Commandments and other scriptural regulations can be tossed out or simply regarded as someone’s ideas.
What if we are sadly mistaken and a good 20,000 leagues over our head in this matter called life? What if some of the laws we have put together, live Roe vs. Wade, is best described as a national suicide pact, not for the fetuses that we aborted, but the adults who instigated, performed and stood by assenting to the whole thing? What if we are out standing on the open plain thumbing our collective noses at someone so powerful He would make an F5 tornado seem like the slightest of breezes?
What if we, in fine turning marriage for our collective happiness, are dealing with something that was not originally our idea in the first place, but was conceived in the mind of someone beyond the stars in the beginning? Perhaps it may be that we are engineering, in its purest form, was conceived by the Godhead to demonstrate His image, male and female, in holy union.
Page 2 of 2 - What if a hand of provision is lifted over this country by our actions and things begin to fall like a string of dominos? What if it turns out that prosperity and the economy and peace on these shores were held in place by mercy? What if the crops coming up in the field and the cattle on the hill had a connection to that Someone which we foolishly have said was our barrio and ours alone?
Somebody, perhaps sooner rather than later, the malls will all be silent. The creak of unattended doors will be carried by the wind. Windows will be boarded up and commerce as we have known it will have ceased. The clank or armor will be heard in our streets in the aftermath of economic and social collapse.
Impossible you say> Unrealistic you intone? But it has happened many, many times before and the suffering of past generations who experienced it has been lost in the swirl of IPods and video games and a general disconnect from that teacher-historical precedence.
