  • Lee Daniels' The Butler, starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, handily won the box office over the weekend, taking in $25 million. It performed the best out of all the new releases this weekend, while Jobs bombed and gave star Ashton Kutcherone of his worst opening weekends ever, Box Office Mojo reports.
    In second place was We're the Millers with a $17.8 million haul. Last week's No. 1 movie, Elysium, fell to third place with $13.6 million.
    Fall TV Preview: New stars to watch
    Kick-Ass 2, at No. 4, had a disappointing opening, falling short of the original movie with $13.56 million.
    Planes and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters claimed the fifth and sixth spots, with $13.1 million and $8.4 million, respectively.
    The Steve Jobs biopic Jobs earned just $6.7 million and finished at No. 7.
    Rounding out the Top 10 were 2 Guns (No. 8, $5.6 million), The Smurfs 2 (No. 9, $4.6 million) and The Wolverine (No. 10, $4.4 million).
