The Montevideo girls tennis team played six matches the past week, winning three of them.

Sauk Centre topped the Thunder Hawks 5-2 here last Thursday.

Winning their matches for Montevideo were Nikki Erickson at No. 3 singles and the No. 3 doubles team of Avery Koosman and Natasha Smith.

On Saturday, the Thun­der Hawks won all three of their matches in a quadrangular at Marshall, defating Morris/Chokio-Alberta 5-2 and Wort­h­ington and Marshall, both by 7-0 scores.

Going unbeaten for the day were Ashley Hoehne at No. 3 singles, Natasha Smith at No. 4 singles, and the doubles teams of Nikki Erickson and Macy Peters, Jessa Kack and Mikaela Erickson, and Avery Koosmann and Tina Lipinski.

Montevideo lost 5-2 at Hutchinson on Monday. Hoehne, at third singles, and Smith at fourth singles, had Montevideo’s wins.

The hectic week concluded with a 7-0 road loss to a very good Minne­waska Area team Tuesday. Three of the matches went to a third set.

The Thunder Hawks have a pair of home matches coming up. They host Morris/Chokio-Al­berta today (Thursday) and Yellow Medicine East on Tuesday. Montevideo has beaten both teams earlier this season.

The Thunder Hawks have a record of 9-7 with five dual matches, one  invitational tournament and the West Central Conference tournament remaining in the regular season
