  • The Montevideo swimming and diving team lost dual meets to two of its main rivals — Minnewaska/Mor­ris and Melrose the past week.
    In last Thursday’s 100-86 loss to Minnewaska/Morris, the Thunder Hawks got individual wins from Allyssa Parker in diving, Rachel Clark in the 100 butterfly, Baylee Pauling in the 500 freestyle and Lexi Quigley in the 100 breaststroke.
    Also winning their events were the 200 medley relay of Meghan Mortenson, Quig­ley, Pauling and Abby Grussing, and the 200 free­style relay of Katia Osman, Quigley, Kyra Fokken and Pauling.
    The T-Hawks finished seventh out of seven teams in Saturday’s true team meet. Top finishes for Montevideo were Parker, sixth in diving, and Pauling, sixth in the 50 freestyle.
    Melrose downed the T-Hawks 99-75 here Tuesday. Scoring first-place finishes for Montevideo were Mortenson in the backstroke, Quigley in the breaststroke, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Osman, Nikkie Feldhake, Fokken and Pauling.
    The Thunder Hawks won’t have another meet until they compete in the West Central Conference championships Oct. 26 at the University of Minnesota, Morris.
