  • On Saturday afternoon, kids were playing hockey, some in short sleeves, at the Larson Park Rink in Montevideo. According to Dwight Mulder, the official weather observer at KDMA/KMGM/KKRC Radio, the high temperature on Saturday was 42 degrees, just 2 degrees below the all-time record high for that date, set in 1986. Within about 12 hours, the temperature had plunged to 15 degrees below zero — an incredible drop of 57 degrees. (Staff photo by Bruce Olson)
