  • “The state meet was the icing on the cake for a great season,” said head coach Matt Olson.  “Our team maintained their times and found success at a grander stage than before.”
The Montevideo swimmers had a great weekend of competition at state.A second place finish in the 100 backstroke helped advance Thunder Hawk senior swimmer Jack Spaeth to the finals at the Minnesota State Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, February 28.The coach said that once his athletes settled in, the confidence showed in the pool.  “The nerves were boiling over first day and I believe our boys stepped up for the occasion,” he said.  “It was a great way to conclude a great chapter for the Montevideo Boys Swim and Dive program.”
    All season long
“All the athletes we had in our program this year excelled so far from the first day they stepped foot into the pool,” said Olson.  “Success is measured by how far you come and if at the end you can have a smile on your face.  Every athlete should be commended on a great season for their hard work, dedication, and determination to strive to be their best.”
