  • Ashley Hoehne and a two run double, two run homer, were the story of the night as the Hawks beat Melrose 2-1 in game one, and 9-5 in game two.

Kiersti Grey, who came on in relief in game two and picked up the win, got the complete game win in game one.

    Fall to Lakers
It was a tie game going into the fifth inning when the Lakers belted seven runs and blew open a 1-1 game. The Thunder Hawks didn’t answer and they gave up four more runs in the sixth inning on their way to a 12-2 loss.

Seven Thunder Hawk errors didn’t help and with just four hits, the Hawks didn’t generate enough offense to hang with the Lakers.

    Defeat LQPV
On a cold, windy day in a field surrounded by rolling hills and as yet unplanted field a softball game took place.

The Thunder Hawks traveled to Lac qui Parle Valley high school and led early, but needed a late three run rally to hang on comfortably over the Eagles. The Hawks won 11-7.

After jumping out to a 5-1 lead after three innings, the Hawks were outscored 4-2 in the fourth inning and clung to a 7-5 lead. Laq qui Parle would add runs in the fifth and seventh to make things interesting, but in the top of the seventh the Thunder Hawks added another three runs to seal the win.

The Hawks had several of their key players get solid and timely hitting at the plate.
