Glad for 34 years of service
Let’s take a look at what President Obama’s administration intends to do to America’s military prowess, if there are any of us left out there who care.

In the Airforce, he intends to eliminate 280 aircraft and 9,900 airmen. The F-22 Raptor, which would give us unquestioned air superiority has been cancelled. The F-35 Fighter has been delayed and the A-10 Warthog anti-tank buster has been scrapped just when we may have a conflict with Russia who possesses thousands of tanks. Our currect fighters are heading towrd obselescence.

In the Navy he is intending to retire nine current ships and will drastically cut back on our ship building capability. There will be 32 new combat ships added, rather than 52.

In the Army, president Obama will reduce the fighting strength by 100,000 personnel, leaving our manpower at 450,000 troops. In addition, many of the young officers being let go will be the ones with actual experience on the field of battle.

The Marines will have six battalions eliminated with the elimination of four tactical air squadrons. There will be only 182,000 leathernecks left. 20,000 of these elite fighters will be gone.

What does this mean if it goes through? We will no longer be able to fight a war on two fronts. We will not be able to sustain a long term conflict with one enemy, we must win quickly with The United States Army smaller than it was in 1940. There is no missile shield in Europe while Putin just test fired a nuclear ballistic missile, in a petulant response to Obama’s sanctions.

This is all taking place when the Russian bear has roused itself, North Korea and Iran are threatening us and China is discussing the feasibility of a short, sharp war with Japan. China is also extending its interests to the Philippines at this time. Islamic Jihadist terrorism has been reconstituted and is on the move.

We do not know what the future will bring but we do know from the annals of history that the aggressive, rapacious nature of man has not changed and there will be war on the earth.
To my dear friends who are members of the Democratic Party, that party has accomplished many notable things in the past, and produced statesmen of the first order, but this administration in Washington now is not your father’s democratic administration. WAKE UP!

    They’ve done it again
Our Youth Service and Career Class has done it again. They have raised another $720 for the Chippewa County Relay for Life (Cancer research and treatment). They have done this by a variety of bake sales and other activities and services to our community.

Mrs. Dee Lund is the shephard, please give these kids an “ata boy” for their work.
The young diabetes group had a Belgian waffle feed to raise funds for Type 1 diabetes treatment and research. The event was held at the TACC on Monday evening, May 12, and you should have seen three generations at work to feed and greet those who support their work.

Thanks to our youth and all their good works.
