  • The Montevideo boys track team were team champions -- by less than one point over 2nd place Jackson and just two points over 3rd place Luverne.

“One place position was the difference in the meet,” said head coach Dave Schimming. “That means that kids like Jon Tollackson or Njaal Gustavsen getting 8th place in their events and earning us one team point, meant the championship. Or a kid like Travis Dreyer whose triple jump was 1/4" ahead of the kid behind him, potentially won us the meet. And the 4X4 relay team of Josh Tastad, Jimmy Haff, Anthony Bosch, and Quinn Hoidal ran five seconds faster than they did a week ago to take 5th (they were seeded 8th), including Quinn Hoidal passing three kids in the last 100 meters - that definitely helped to win us the meet!  This truly shows how every point can count! It was a gutsy team victory!”

    Girls
The girls team placed 3rd over-all behind the champion from Luverne and runner-up from LQPV-DB.

“The girls had an incredible day,” said Schimming. “It took two very good teams hitting on all cylinders to beat them. Their motto for the day was "Go Big" and they definitely did, including new school records in two relays!”

“The coaches are EXTREMELY proud of all of our boy and girl athletes!” said Schimming.
