  • Montevideo man found shot by Granite Falls

  • Daniel Scheff, 30, of Monte­video, was found bleeding from apparent gun shot wounds two miles south of Granite Falls on Highway 23 at the intersection of 260th Ave. just before 1:00 a.m. Friday morning.
    According to a press release, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office received a phone call at 12:41 a.m. stating that Scheff was lying on the side of road covered in blood.
    Emergency services responded to the scene and the male was transported to the Granite Falls Hospital before being airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
    As of 8 a.m. Friday morning he was listed in critical condition. The incident is currently under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
    Police Chase
    Late Tuesday afternoon, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s office was involved in a pursuit with a vehicle with two persons of interest to the Friday morning assault and shooting.
