  • A Granite Falls man was arrested after a alcohol-fueled car chase ended with a temporary escape into the Minnesota River.
     
    Lance Odegard, 38, is being held on $30,000 bond as the alleged driver that outran police officers dangerously and sporadically, including driving up to speeds of 95 miles per hour and driving on the wrong side of the road on Hwy. 212.
     
    The incident started just after 5:00 a.m. on Friday morning when Montevideo Police Officer Brent Schroeder spotted a car believed to have been stolen several hours earlier. After Schroeder activated his emergency lights behind the vehicle, which had temporarily pulled over onto the shoulder by Goodfellas restaurant, the vehicle sped up, and the pursuit began.
