The 15th annual National Farmers Market Week, held this year Aug. 3-9, is under way and ending this weekend.

A farmers market is defined as such by the  United States Department of Agriculture: “A farmers market is ... a mutli-stall market at which farmer-producers sell agricultural products directly to the general public at a central or fixed location, particularly fresh fruit and vegetables (but also meat products, dairy products, and/or grains).”
