This past Saturday, Art’s Dairy Freeze opened for its 69th year. The weather may have been chilly, but as new owners Dave and Patty Glomstad like to say, “It’s never too cold for ice cream.”

This  past  Saturday, Art’s Dairy Freeze opened for its 69th year. The weather may have been chilly, but as new owners Dave and Patty Glomstad like to say, “It’s never too cold for ice cream.”

The Glomstad’s recently  purchased the iconic Montevideo drive-in from Ron Meyer, who had owned the business for the last 32 years.

Art Wersal began the business in 1948, and it soon became the popular place to beat the heat in Montevideo. The neon-lit ice cream cone on top of the building is a local icon.
