Representative Paul Thissen made a stop in Montevideo on Saturday morning as part of a whirlwind tour of the state following his announcement this past Thursday of his intent to run for governor of the State of Minnesota.

Representative Paul Thissen made a stop in Montevideo on Saturday morning as part of a whirlwind tour of the state following his announcement this past Thursday of his intent to run for governor of the State of Minnesota.

 

Thissen had a meet and greet at the Montevideo Fire Department’s Pancake Breakfast at the Fire Hall. Current governor Mark Dayton has declared that he will not seek another term.

 

Thissen joins an ever-increasing number of Democrats and Repub­licans vying for the job.

 

Previously, Thissen served as the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives and fought to pass a number of progressive changes and helped restore state fiscal stability.
