The 2017 Chippewa County Fair is history, and by all accounts it was a success. Final attendance figures for the fair are not yet available, but judging from the number of vehicles parked near the fairgrounds each day, the fair was very well attended.

What would a county fair be without 4-H? Chippewa County 4-H events took place daily during the fair and were very popular. Pigs, horses, cattle, llamas, rabbits, poultry, and pets all had their own shows. (The results for 4-H shows were not available at press time, but will be published in next week’s paper.)

A great place to eat was the 4-H Food Stand. Specials were available each day, and good, home-style meals were tasty and inexpensive.

Speaking of food, a variety of fair food fare was available for sampling from many different vendors. Types of food ranged from deep-fried Oreos to pork chops on a stick.

A wide variety of entertainment was available each day. Popular attractions were the Strong Man act, magician/juggler Sean Emery, Xtreme Ball, the Reptile Zoo, and Streich a Pose face painting.
