The sleepy little town of Watson rarely makes the news, but this week Watson was featured on a segment of WCCO television’s Finding Minnesota. Local native John Lauritsen hosts the segment for WCCO, and he recently came to Watson to tell the story of how a small town in west central Minnesota not only survives, but thrives.
Although the segment focuses on Ed Lipinski’s EZ Chassis Swaps business, the story is also about the determination of Watson to remain viable in the 21st Century.
Lipinski was very pleased by how the segment turned out. “John did a really positive story about Watson. It was fun to watch,” he said.
Watson is widely known as the Goose Capitol, and for good reason. The annual fall migration of geese brings hunters from all over the nation to the area seeking the opportunity to bag a goose.
Recently, volunteers renovated the city’s ballfield, which had fallen into disrepair and was neglected for many years. The citizens of Watson worked diligently together to raise money for the project and turn the once-derelict ballfield into a source of civic pride.
