Paul Jeffery Anderson, 20, of Montevideo, was arraigned last Wednesday in Chippewa County Court on multiple charges stemming from a fight that occurred on July 18 in Montevideo.

Paul Jeffery Anderson, 20, of Montevideo, was arraigned last Wednesday in Chippewa County Court on multiple charges stemming from a fight that occurred on July 18 in Montevideo.

Anderson has been charged with felony assault in the second degree- dangerous weap­on, felony terroristic threats, and receiving stolen property, a firearm. He also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and underage possession of marijuana.

On July 18, Montevideo Police officers responded to a call about a large fight with baseball bats in the area of 17th St. and Lincoln Ave. A number of people fled as officers arrived at the scene. One suspect was apprehended after a foot chase.

According to an MPD press release, a 9mm handgun was produced and brandished during the confrontation. Anderson then entered his residence and allegedly brought out and brandished a loaded .223 caliber AR-15 rifle. A physical fight between two groups of individuals then ensued.

Anderson was placed under arrest at the scene, as were Albert Hughes, 18, Sirena Hughes, 19 Malik Palton, 19, and Steven Johnson, 25. All are from Montevideo.
