Michael Scott Christie, 63, of Lame Deer, Montana, was sentenced in Chippewa County Court on Tuesday for stealing from his mother’s estate while she was evicted from her nursing home.

Michael Scott Christie, 63, of Lame Deer, Montana, was sentenced in Chippewa County Court on Tuesday for stealing from his mother’s estate while she was evicted from her nursing home.

Christie had plead guilty to two felony charges of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, his mother, who was a resident of Clarkfield.

Christie was ordered to serve 72 days in the Chippewa County Jail with credit given for 48 days already served. He will also serve probation for five years and was granted a stay of imposition, meaning the convictions could be reduced to misdemeanors if he successfully completes the terms of his probation.
